It is with great pleasure that I convey, in my own name and on behalf of the Embassy team, our sincere new year’s greetings to the people and the Government of the Republic of Korea.

I seize this opportunity to convey my heartfelt wishes for success and prosperity to Korea Ambassador Culture and Friendship Association and to the editors and readers of the Seoul City Magazine. 

On New Year’s eve and while bidding farewell to more than two years of the pandemic crisis, it is a good occasion to review what have been achieved over the past year and to envision what more to expect to achieve in this New Year.

Korea, with the inauguration of the Yoon Suk-yeol Administration last May, has accomplished many achievements in various fields, in diplomacy, economy, science and technology, tourism and health and many others. I hope this New Year and onwards, Korea will continue to maintain this progress and development momentum.

On bilateral scope, 2022 was an auspicious year, marked by the celebration of the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Korea and the organization of many events and activities and also the exchange of high-ranking official visits, notably the holding in December of the 5th political bilateral consultations in Seoul.

In fact, since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in July 1962, my country and the Republic of Korea forged a rock-solid longstanding relationship on every level, which has made it possible, today, to lay the ground for a constructive and fruitful partnership, and with the ever-increasing connections between our two nations, we believe that the Republic of Korea can rely on the Kingdom of Morocco as a Gateway to the African continent. And Morocco can rely on Korea as its opening to the Asian-Pacific Region.

By welcoming 2023, we are looking forward to another year of success to forge an outstanding relationship on every level, and we will continue to work together to identify greater opportunities to strengthen our ties and collaborate to tackle common regional issues and global agenda. Based on mutual interest, we will endeavor to broaden our economic partnership and increase cultural and people-to-people bonds. It is our sincere hope that the cordial relations and cooperation between our two nations will flourish and prosper to further extent. We are keen to grow together deep roots, bear rich fruits, enhance and widen our cooperation.

May the kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Korea enjoy greater prosperity, progress, stability, security and peace in this New Year.
