Diwali is the largest and most important holiday in India of the year. It is a festival of inner light that protects Indians from spiritual darkness, and is just as important to Hindus as the Christmas holiday is to Christians. The festival of Diwali falls on a different date each year according to the Hindu lunar calendar, but is usually in October or November.  Diwali is also a day to honor Lakshmi of Hinduism's wealth, prosperity, youth and beauty. According to India Day: On this first day, people buy new items such as jewelry, clothing, utensils, lighting lamps to welcome Lakshmi. Second: The day focuses on the story of Hindu mythology about the defeat of the god Krishna and the demon god Narakasura. On this day, some people set up twinkling lanterns to celebrate his victory. The third day is the most important day of the Diwali festival. On this day, people visit family and friends to feast and exchange sweets and gifts. People keep lighting lamps and candles to welcome the light and prosperity of the goddess Lakshmi. Fourth: On New Year's Day, friends and relatives visit each other with gifts to bless each other. Fifth: The day is a day for brothers and sisters to honor each other. “Diwali” the Indian Festival of Lights is one of the biggest holidays in India. There is a theory that King, Kim Suro welcomed Princess, Suriratna of Ayuta, India as her queen. Korea and India have the roots of thinking that moral and ethical ideas are important to each other.  The two countries need stronger exchanges and from a historical point of view, they need to build stronger ties with trust than any other countries. The most important thing in the society in which humans live is trust, virtue, and a caring personality.  When we have this basic philosophy and work together, individuals and companies can succeed together.  Modern Indians are already recognized as the most outstanding people in the world.  For example, there are many world-leading Indian-born American CEOs such as Google, Microsoft, and IBM.  However, if the India is willing to be a world leader, it will need to have a strategy that can surpass the US and China.  The answer is with the Republic of Korea, just as King, Kim Suro welcomed Princess, Suriratna, a princess from Ayutah, India, as her queen some 2,000 years ago.

The meaning of Diwali, if defined, in its broader sense, represents the triumph of light over darkness.  It always represents the darkness and light of the philosophy that only the upright and justice can triumph. To commemorate Diwali in India, it is celebrated by people of various religions in India, including Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Muslims and Buddhists. In other parts of the world, many people with South Asian heritage also celebrate Diwali together. In this way, it represents the victory of light over darkness among many people of different religions that transcend religion.  It should imitate the spirit of the Indians, who have a strong philosophy that only the righteousness and justice can always win.

Over the past two years, the festival has been canceled or held on a limited basis only due to COVID-19.  But this year, as restrictions are lifted, the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea are planning an incredible festival on November 4th.
