Ambassador Ali Mohammed MAGASHI delivers a welcoming speech

 The 62nd anniversary of Nigeria's Independence Day was successfully held at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul. 

 Ali Mohamed MAGASHI, ambassador of Nigeria to Korea, began the speech, emphasizing the ties between the two countries, saying, "Nigeria and Korea have come a long way together since the establishment of diplomatic ties 42 years ago."
He continued, “we are collaborating in various areas and Nigeria is the only country in Africa that hosts the Korean Cultural Center to actively promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. 

 In addition, he emphasized economic cooperation between the two countries, saying, Nigeria has a lot of potential, especially in the oil and gas sectors, various mineral resources and agricultural products. South Korea imports many products that Nigeria produces.

 Yoon Seong-deok, an Economic and Diplomatic Coordinator, responded with congratulatory speech to the Nigerian ambassador's welcoming speech. He opened his congratulatory speech by saying, “Oh behalf of the government of the Republic of Korea and Korean people, I would like to extend my sincere congratulation to people and the government of Nigeria.” 

 He said that Korea and Nigeria have developed friendly and cooperative relationship in various fields since the establishment of close ties in 1980s, emphasizing the close ties between the two countries. 

 In addition, he mentioned that among all of Korea’s overseas construction projects in Africa, more than 10 were implemented in Nigeria, which suggests the potential for economic cooperation between the two countries.

 He concluded his congratulatory speech, expressing his firm belief that friendship and cooperation between Korea and Nigeria will surely enjoy a brighter future.
