CI to be changed to focus on Josun brand in leading the hospitality industry

Shinsegae Chosun Hotel is to change its company identity and brand identity to strengthen the Josun brand image and improve its competitiveness as one of the leading hospitality companies in Korea.
It has been confirmed that the hotel will change the name to Josun Hotels & Resorts from the current Shinsegae Chosun Hotel, considering that the hotel boasts a diverse business portfolio within the hospitality sector.
The new name of the company where the word “Josun” is included aims to carry on the legacy of Chosun Hotel, and to be enunciated closer to how it is pronounced in the Korean language. The change will be applied beginning from January 2021.
Brand identity will change as well in order for the company to coherently align their brand image.
The Westin Chosun Seoul and The Westin Chosun Busan will each change its name to The Westin Josun Seoul and The Westin Josun Busan to streamline the Josun brand image.

The company plans to expand the presence of Josun brand, raise the hotel’s status, and clarify each portfolio system by having one united brand under Shinsegae including its standalone hotel, Grand Josun and Grand Palace.
“We are changing the business name to increase its brand competitiveness supported by the Josun brand heritage that had long been in the lead of the hotel industry,” said Josun Hotels & Resorts CEO Han Chae-yang and added, “We will continue to strive as the leading hospitality company with the world-class mindset to lead the industry, dedicated services, and imaginative mind for a better life.”
