‘Kyungin Machinery’ is a specialized cooling tower manufacturer that has been producing only cooling tower since it was founded as ‘Kyungin Machinery Corporation’ in 1975. As a largest and best cooling tower manufacturer in Korea, ranging from small air-conditioning cooling tower to large industrial cooling tower, we have accumulated the highest expertise and know-how in calculating thermal performance, designing, manufacturing and installation of cooling tower through our continued efforts. We have been told through more than four decades that if ‘Kyungin Machinery’ changes, the history of cooling tower in Korea will change too.
In 1960, ‘Hankook Iyon Co.’, the former name of ‘Kyungin Machinery’ was established in Namdaemun-ro, Seoul. On March 5, 1975, ‘Kyungin Machinery’ was established as a corporation specializing in manufacturing cooling tower. In 1985, ‘Kyungin Machinery’ signed a licensing agreement with ‘Marley Cooling Tower’, the world's top-notch cooling tower manufacturing company.
Thanks to the highest technologies and expertise offered from the licensor, ‘Marley Cooling Tower’, ‘Kyungin Machinery’ could develop by leaps and bounds over the years and expand to current plant in 1987 and in 1994, its flagship model, a factory-assembly. square type ‘EX COOLING TOWER’ was certified by the American ’Cooling Technology Institute’ (CTI), which broke the framework of existing circular cooling tower.
In 1997, the company opened a company-affiliated cooling tower technology research institute considering the highest technology will gain the competitive edge in the future and as a result, we could acquire KT mark with our NWD (non-coil white smoke reduction cooling tower) cooling tower in 1999.
We could have certification from CTI for our MEX-COOLING TOWER in 2000 and also with the world's second closed circuit cooling tower in 2005.
Thanks to steady growth and endless research and development, we received the Korea Productivity & Innovation Award in 2006, the President's Award for Top Management in 2006, Export of the cooling tower to Greece and Japan (Kobe Steel) for the first time in the cooling tower industry in Korea in 2006, ISO 14001 certification in 2007, NEP, EPC and INNO-BIZ certification in 2009, Korea Air-Conditioning Industrial Development in 2011. In 2012, the company was selected as a ‘Vision Company’ in Incheon, won the Citizens' Award for Industrial Development and Commercial Industry in 2013, and in Daejeon, the company received the Presidential Award for its contribution to the practical use of new technologies.
