LG Electronics is going to strengthen durability of its products and improve design by fully introducing 'all-in-one reinforced glass door' into drum washing machines.

According to an industry source on the 19th, LG Electronics recently released a new product (photo) that is applied with all-in-one tempered glass in its 21kg Tromm drum washing machine door. This is the first time that LG Electronics has attempted to change its door material since the launch of its drum washer in 2002.

The existing product had glass windows in the middle of plastic doors.

The new door, however, was designed by applying tempered glass to the rest of the plastic. Starting with 21kg capacity products, LG Electronics is planning to apply all-in-one tempered glass sequentially to almost all drum washers except for some products. All-in-one tempered glass doors are more durable than conventional plastic-in-place doors, so they are also easier to clean and manage. It is also expected to be helpful in design with a black tint color that looks subtle inside.

"The design of the drum washer door is an important factor that determines the first impression of the product," an LG source said. "The upgrade of the product will further enhance the premium image of the Tromm brand."

LG Electronics continues to improve its washing power by adding AI (Artificial Intelligence) to the industry's first direct drive motor commercialized in washing machines in 1998 and the industry's best inverter technology. LG Electronics will soon introduce services in Korea that manage products in optimal conditions, ranging from installing to using and managing drum washers and dryers, using AI and IoT technologies. The service identifies the operating status of the product through AI and notifies users of expected failures or necessary measures in advance.
