The Seoul Diplomatic Corps. are invited cordially to the 2017 Gunsan Saemangeum
Intl Marathon to be held on April 9th, 2017 at Gunsan City, North Jeolla Province by
the official invitation of Gunsan City mayor Moon Dong-shin.
Gunsan, where dreams of building a city of int'l business and tourism of 0.5 citizens,
invites Diplomatic Corps. to the 2017 Gunsan Saemangeum Intl Marathon, one of the
best competition and is recognized by IAAF as one of the int'l marathon competitions
where all the elite marathoners flock together on April 9, 2017.

As an important media partner, The NDNnews (www.ndnnews.co.kr) & Korea Culture
Ambassador Friendship Association (an affiliate organization of The NDNnews)
organized one night & two day programs in partnership with the Secretariat of the
2017 Gunsan Saemangeum Intl Marathon for the participation of the Diplomatic Corps.
which include two limousine buses, athletes village accormodations, briefing regarding
Saemangeum development circumstance and investment company visit such as
GM Korea and Southern Power Co., Ltd., to name just a few.
The competitions are prepared and will be operating as follows:
First, changes in the marathon courses according to the intl standard
-You can feel the beautiful memory running and passing the modern cultural assets.
-You can get enthusiastic cheering from the citizens while running through downtown.
-Easygoing and simple courses are anticipated to be a help for a good record.
-4 event: full course(42.195km), Half course(21km), 10km course, & last but not least 5km course.

Second, participation of elite runners from home & abroad
Third, public broadcasting
-The marathon will be aired live to broadcast with sense of vividness and filmed so
people can watch it afterward.
Fourth, plague of "SUB-3 hours" and Hall of Fame
Besides the marathon, Gunsan is preparing a variety of things to see & enjoy unique
programs and foods including Gunsan time travelling museum visit

Less than 29 years old: If you are in medium to good physical fitness you don’t have a special limit for exercising. An active exercise of the whole body is good for
you. Especially aerobic exercise is good for you as well as jogging, swimming,
mountain climbing, aerobic dance etc
Between the ages of 30 and 45: If you are in medium to good physical fitness you
should gently articulate by Stretching.Then walking, jogging, mountain climbing, climb
up stairs etc. Work out your muscles, strengthening and improving your muscle tone
by using sporting goods. But if you are of medium physical fitness you need to do
some stretching, riding an exercise bike, jogging, swimming and strengthening to
improve your muscle tone by using dumbbells. Exercise 3~5days a week .30~90minutes
doing moderate exercise in that time.
Between the ages of 46 and 64: If you are of average physical fitness, we encourage
enough stretching, riding an exercise bike, walking, jogging to strength and to
improve your muscle tone. It is important to exercise frequently and without too
much intensity. A little exerciseoften. You should gently exercise 4-6 times a week.

More than 65 years old: We encourage stretching and simple easy gymnastics for
you. Moderate exercise time is better in the afternoon than in the mornings. At the
same time we suggest walking 20~40minutes every day. If necessary you can repeat
the walk, it will do you good to get a moderate amount of exercise every day.
Before exercise you should check for health problems
① Check for pain in your knees and back.
② When you move a little, are you struggling for breath?
③ When you exercise, do you have pain around your chest?
④ Do you have an adult disease such as hypertension or diabetes etc?
⑤ Do you have enough strength to run without difficulty?
⑥ Have you chosen to do exercise suitable for your body condition?
Stop exercise immediately if you feel any of the following symptoms. In these cases
① If you have pain or get tightening of your chest.
② You are short of breath or you can’t breathe.
③ You feel continuously a sick in your stomach
④ If your arms and legs don’t work as you would like.
⑤ You hurt yourself and are in pain.
⑥ 3 weeks after receiving medical attention and you are still hurt.
⑦ Do you have an inflammation of the skin; have a fever or your lymphatic glands are
swollen?
