New accredited UAE Ambassador Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi in Seoul confirmed 

his willingness to consolidate during his UAE Ambassador tenure in Korea 

existing strong bilateral ties that are based on the principles of cooperation 

and mutual respect, and developed in recent years to the level of strategic 

partnership between Korea & UAE, in a reception to commemorate UAE 

45th National Day held in a hotel Seoul on Dec. 1st noon.

In particular, he said through his official first speech as UAE Ambassador 

that the UAE economy continues its march towards growth and comprehensive 

development, with a considerable focus on the industrial and manufacturing sectors.

UAE's such strategic focus coincides with Korea's approach way toward UAE 

to some extent like a constract of construction work & operation and 

management for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant project which paved 

the way for the shared path for the next 100 years between Korea & UAE, 

demonstrates it.

During his address, UAE Ambassador Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi applauded the 

vision of the UAE's forefathers and stressed that the political, economic, 

and social development of the UAE is an achievement that has been made 

possible due to a gradual and balanced approach, whereby UAE decision 

makers have consistently taken into consideration the international and 

regional environment and the unique nature of the country, and it's 

historical, cultural, and religious conditions when embarking upon political change.

Touching upon its foreign policy, Nuaimi said that the country's foreign 

policy has remained faithful to the principles laid down by the late Sheikh 

Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. These principles are based upon the countrys 

commitment to the rules, charters, and laws of international human rights, 

as well as moderation, and noninterference in the internal affairs of other countries.

Congratulating for the appointment of newarrived UAE Amb. Abdulla Saif Al 

Nuaimi in Seoul , Minister Joo Hyunghwan from MOTIE (Ministry of Trade, 

Industry & Energy) proposed as follows: First, Korea and the UAE should 

make their best endeavors for the timely and safe completion of the Barakah 

Nuclear Power Plants. Second, Korea and the UAE should expand investment 

cooperation. and thirdly, Korea and the UAE should explore new areas for 

cooperation, such as health, medical care and culture, while continuing 

cooperation in energy, plants and other existing areas.

Last but not least, Minister Joo garnered interest by mentioning the Miracle 

on the Han River and the Miracle in the Desert for the UAE, both of which 

are the envy of the world.
