Papua New Guinea will host APEC Leaders' Summit in the upcoming 2018.

This event comes with greater challenges and responsibilities for Papua New Guinea while meaning also that Papua New Guinea emerges as a new hub country in international arena.

In conjunction with such an important event in the coming years, Papua New Guinea Amb. Andrew Yamanea, MBE said we value our development partners' assistance like Korea towards the hosting of this event in a reception, held in the Seoul Millennium Hilton on Sep. 22th evening to commemorate 40th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Republic of Korea and Papua New Guinea as well.

In his welcoming address, Yamanea highlighted: "We are working towards a healthy, wealthy, wise and happy people, as envisioned in Papua New Guinea-Vision 2010".

Regarding its investment fields, the Amb. said that today, we are growing investments in agriculture, fisheries, forestry, mining, oil and energy resources. According to Yamanea, there are investment opportunities in electricity production, water & sanitation, information technology, communication & development of major seaports, airports, roads and bridges.
