  Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurgali Arystanov held a meeting with Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chairman of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), on the margins of Global Green Growth Week 2025.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in the field of green development. Ambassador Arystanov expressed his appreciation to Mr. Ban for his significant contribution to strengthening bilateral cooperation, including through active participation in events organized by Kazakhstan.

In this context, the Ambassador handed over an official invitation from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to attend the Regional Climate Summit, which will be held in April 2026 in Astana, with the support of United Nations agencies.

Mr. Ban Ki-moon highly commended Kazakhstan’s active international efforts under the leadership of the Head of State.

The sides agreed to continue their dialogue aimed at strengthening cooperation, including within the framework of GGGI. It is noteworthy that Kazakhstan has been a member of GGGI since December 2022.
