Korea Consumer Awards 2025 Shines in Seoul, celebrating Excellence and Diplomacy
The Press Center has once again been enlivened by the vigorous footsteps of the Korea Consumer Association
Seoul, Nov. 4, 2025 — The Korea Consumer Awards 2025 were successfully held at the Korea Press Center in central Seoul, bringing together prominent figures and representatives from various sectors of Korean society.
The ceremony was hosted by the Korea Consumer Awards Committee and Consumer Post, and organized by the Korea Consumer Association and SeoulCity_Magazine. The event was sponsored by the Korea Ambassador Culture Friendship Association and the Korea Management Consulting Institute (KMCI).
Since 2012, the Korea Consumer Awards have recognized corporations and brands that demonstrate exceptional commitment to consumer rights. Among the Korea Consumer Association’s notable achievements are its efforts in driving the amendment of the Ministry of Environment’s Clean Air Conservation Act through the Volkswagen Consumer Refund Campaign in 2016, and the initiation of a class-action lawsuit over BMW vehicle fires in 2018. These initiatives attracted national attention and public support for consumer protection.
The Korea Consumer Association continues to address issues arising between award-winning companies and consumers, seeking mutual growth and development. With sponsorship from the Korea Ambassador Culture Friendship Association, the organization has also strengthened global marketing and international cooperation through partnerships with foreign embassies in Korea.
Chairman Shin Hyun Doo delivered congratulatory remarks to all awardees and participating companies, commending their dedication despite full schedules. He emphasized the importance of sustainable corporate management that upholds consumer rights and social responsibility. Chairman Shin also reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to discovering consumer-friendly enterprises, individuals, and organizations that demonstrate competitiveness, credibility, and public interest. He highlighted the Association’s efforts in promoting consumer education, fair trade, policy development, and consumer counseling through the Korea Consumer Awards program.
One of the most notable highlights of this year’s ceremony was the presentation of the Best Ambassador Award to H.E. Tarash Papaskua, Ambassador of Georgia to Korea; H.E. Ramin Hasanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Korea, and H.E. Abdulla Saif Ali Slayem Alnuaimi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Korea.
In addition, Colonel Asif Mehmood, Defense Attaché of Pakistan, received the Best Defense Attaché Award, and Trade Commissioner Mohamad Termizi Hj Piee, the Malaysian Commercial Attaché to Korea, was honored with the Best Commercial Attaché Award.
In his acceptance speech, H.E. Tarash Papaskua, Ambassador of Georgia, expressed deep gratitude for the honor of being named among Korea’s Best Ambassadors of the Year. He extended warm congratulations to his fellow honorees, Ambassador Hasanov of Azerbaijan and Ambassador Alnuaimi of the UAE, as well as all distinguished recipients. He expressed appreciation for the recognition of cultural diplomacy efforts, noting that it serves as motivation to further strengthen friendly relations between Georgia and the Republic of Korea. Especially on this day, the Georgian Ambassador graciously prepared the finest wines from Georgia for the ceremony guests to appreciate. These wines offered the most extraordinary taste of all.
H.E. Ramin Hasanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan, delivered his appreciation for the recognition, calling it not merely a personal achievement but a reflection of the teamwork, support, and inspiration that made it possible. He thanked the organizers for acknowledging the Embassy of Azerbaijan’s work and pledged to continue strengthening bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Korea.
The Best Defense Award was a new category introduced this year, with Colonel Asif Mehmood of Pakistan as its first recipient. In his remarks, Colonel Mehmood expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, highlighting the Defense Attaché’s ongoing efforts to enhance defense cooperation and mutual understanding between Pakistan and Korea.
