-KEPCO held a ceremony to mark the completion of a pilot project for the export of KEPCO Energy Management System

Korea Electric Power Corp. exported its own energy management system to the Dominican Republic of Latin America. KEPCO held a ceremony to mark the completion of a pilot project for the export of KEPCO Energy Management System (K-BEMS) at PUCMM University in Dominica on Wednesday

The K-BEMS, developed by KEPCO, is a system that integrates and controls energy to increase energy efficiency and reduce costs. It helps customers to efficiently distribute energy by collecting and analyzing information on their use of various energy sources such as electricity, gas and heat in real time. Starting with PUCMM University, KEPCO plans to expand K-BEMS deployment to local companies and hotels. The project is a cooperative project between KEPCO and small and medium-sized enterprises. KEPCO, along with J&D Electronics, a local company in Naju, South Jeolla Province, and ESD, a local Korean company, conducted a demonstration project for 10 months.
"Dominica is in urgent need of efficient energy management as demand for electricity is soaring due to rapid economic development," said An Gall Cano, president of the Dominican National Energy Commission, who attended the ceremony.
