-Honduras is looking forward its FTA's fruitful proceed with Korea by strenthening mutual complementary economic structure: Amb. Trapero

5 Central American countries commemorate their Independence on Sep. 15th including Honduras, Nicargua, Guatemala, EL Salvador and Costa Rica etc.

Among those 5 countries, the Embassy of Honduras hosted solely among its 5 Central American countries its 198th Anniversary luncheon reception to mark Honduras Independence at a downtown hotel Seoul on Sep. 17th noon while Honduras MOFAT deputy minister Mr. Jose Isaias Barahona, envoys from the Central & South American region were on hand in large numbers.

The most noteworthy fact between the two counterparts will be Korea-Central American countries' FTA effectuation which will be started from Oct. 1. In consideration of such an important fact, Honduras Amb. Virgilio Trapero expected through his welcome speech that Honduras is looking forward its fruitful proceed by strenthening mutual complementary economic structure.

By Korea's latest deal with Central American Bank for Economic Integration located in Honduras (CABEI) to acquire CABEI membership, it will further improve Korea's trade relations with 13 other CABEI members, said the Embassy of Honduras.

Trapero also assessed positively the functioning of FEALAC which is a unique regular official platform for dialogue between the two regions. The Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) is an inter-regional multilateral forum launched in 1999 with the aim to promote better understanding, political and economic dialogue and cooperation in all areas so as to achieve more effective and fruitful relations and closer cooperation between the two regions.

In terms of Korea, Honduras is an important ODA(official development assistance) cooperative partner country and the two nations mark their 57th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year, according to Honduras envoy. For reference, Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez's official visit to Korea on 2015 as well as its Foreign Minister Aguero‘s official visit to Korea on 2017 respectively contributed greatly to bolster bilateral relations in the areas of energy & e-Government etc., to name just a few, according to also Trapero.

From the perspective of The NDNnews & its affiliated organization Korea Culture Ambassador Friendship Association as well, Honduras envoy Trapero serves as Co-chairman of the Association while he attends regularly in NDNnews regional trip invitation programs with his spouse whose attendence will be able to be listed with the participation of the 2019 Daejeon West-District Arts Festival on May, this year, Korea Racing Authority's Summer Night Horse Racing Festival on Aug., this year, Incheon Global Campus trip on April, this year etc., to name just a few as well.
