A truly multi-cultural event Oktoberfest, German-style beer fest which originates from Munich, provided Seoul beer-lovers with an opportunity once again to experience in advance its original Oktoberfest in Seoul, commemorating German Airline Lufthansa 35th anniversary of its flight to Seoul at the same time.

Having been hosting its Oktoberfest during last 14 years in Seoul, Grand Hilton Seoul has been marked as a mecca of Oktoberfest under the leadership of General Manager Bernhard Brender who is a long-career hotelier as well as carried out his GM position roles in many luxturious hotels such as Millennium Seoul Hilton, Westin Chosun & Sheraton Walkerhill, to name just a few.

Without exception this year as well, a total of about 1,500 beer-lovers in Seoul gathered at the Grand Hilton Seoul 2019 Oktoberfest to enjoy German-style's Oktoberfest while Germany Amb. Stephan AUER, Peru Amb. Enrique Matute-mejia & his spouse and last but not least Honduras Amb. Virgilio Paredes Trapero & his spouse including Canadian Embassy deputy head mission Mr. Steven Goodinson & his spouse were on hand among Diplomatic Corps. as guest honors.

Expressing his sincere thanks to the sponsors including Lufthansa, Porsche Centre Yongsan, Philips, & TUEV SUED which made this huge event possible successfully, Grand Hilton Seoul General Manager Brender said he sincerely hopes our guests would make new friends, accmululating friendship each other through his welcoming remarks.

As usuals, armwrestling competition by men & women, hammering by men & women, speed drinking by men & women attracted participant guests to join them and the Oktoberfest Band "The Anton Band" amused guests all the night with their German songs!

Beer tents, stalls and fairground hours

When is the tapping of the barrel, what time does the music play till in the tents and what time is the last call? How long in the evening can you admire the Wiesn from above in the Ferris wheel? All the important opening times for the 186th Oktoberfest 2019, which takes place from September 21st till October 6th 2019.

Beer tent opening times

On the first Saturday of the Wiesn the tents open at 9 am, from 10 am there are alcohol-free drinks (except beer), at midday they then call: “Ozapft is!” and the beer is served. With the tapping of the barrel the Wiesn is officially opened!

Having been hosting its Oktoberfest during last 14 years in Seoul, Grand Hilton Seoul has been marked as a mecca of Oktoberfest under the leadership of General Manager Bernhard Brender.

Monday to Friday the tents open at 10 am, the last beer and the last song the band play is at 10.30 pm, lights out is at 11.30 pm. On Saturdays, Sundays and on the public holiday beer is served from 9 am.

Exceptions: The Käfer Wiesn-Schänke and Kuffler’s Weinzelt (wine tent) are open till 1 am, last call here is at 12.30 am.

The small tents like chicken grills, snack and café tents are open till 11 pm.

Fish sandwiches, balloons and Wiesn hearts: The stalls

On the first Saturday of Wiesn the stalls open at 10 am and stay open till midnight. During the week the opening times are 10 am to 11.30 pm, on Fridays till midnight, on Saturdays from 9 am to midnight and on Sundays and on the public holiday from 9 am till 11.30 pm.

Fairground rides and showmen

Ferris wheel, Toboggan, Hau den Lukas or Teufelsrad: At Oktoberfest the attractions are open from midday on the opening day to midnight. Sundays to Thursdays you can ride the roller-coaster, enjoy the view from the Ferris wheel or be scared in the ghost train from 10 am to 11.30 pm at night, on Fridays and Saturdays as well as on the 2nd October (the eve of the public holiday) till midnight.

Oide Wiesn (Old Oktoberfest) opening times

Oide Wiesn has its own area on the south side of Theresienwiese, it’s open every day from 10 am till 11 pm. The last paid-for entry is at 9 pm, after that entry is free – Note: only via the exits!

There is beer daily at the Oide Wiesn from 10 am to 9.30 pm, you can enjoy the historic fairground rides from 10 am to 10.30 pm.

The 2 family days at the Wiesn

On the 2 Tuesdays there are the official family days at Oktoberfest: They both last till 7 pm. In the tents there are reduced prices and menu deals for children and families and many rides and stalls offer reduced prices on these days. Simply look out for the signs “Familientag” or “Kindertag”.
