June Festival is an annual event to consolidate Korea-U.S alliance hosted by Korea America Friendship Society.
Without exception this year as well, the Society hosted its June Festival 2019 in a downtown hotel Seoul last Friday evening(June 14) to commemorate its Society’s 28th Founding too while about 500 distinguished US soldiers & Korean sponsors including its invited guests were on hand.
On behalf of the US Amb. Harry Harris who was travelling to the US because of his business trip, Minister Counsellor Mitchell R. Moss for PA, US Embassy, stressed through his congratulatory speech: “Korea-U.S alliance is one of the most successful alliances in the world, adding Korea-U.S alliance has been serving as a stepping-stone to keep security & safety in this region.
By his opening remarks, president Hwang Jin-ha from Korea America Friendship Society pointed out: “Because of the disguised peace from the North Korea, the firm maintenance of Korea-U.S alliance is more important than ever”.
Touching upon the role of US Amb. Harry B. Harris , Jr, Hwang said that to keep Korea-U.S alliance and to advance it further, the presence of US Amb. Harris is the appropriate choice for both counterparts, that is Korea and US.
Korea America Friendship Society Awards went to PFC Emily Lopez, IT2 Marcus Foster, Capt. Elaine Clines, and last but not least Sgt Jocob Fuller who were recognized in recognition of their excellent services & activities.
