The Diplomatic Corps. in the Republic of Korea in which Oman Amb. Mohamed AL Alharthy serves as its Dean, hosted its 1st Annual Gathering of the Heads of the Diplomatic Missions recently in a downtown hotel Seoul.
In a circumstance when envoys are usual normally in attending each Embassy's National Day reception or regional trip programs organized by for example, The NDNnews & its affiliate organization Korea Culture Ambassador Friendship Association, such a gathering is assessed to be very rare case in order to forge more close cooperations & partnerships between Diplomatic Corps. in Korea & MOFAT(The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea).
In consideration of such an importance, MOFAT Minister Kang Kyung-hwa was present, according to the Embassy of Oman which is Diplomatic Corps. Dean, in addition to almost over 85 envoys accredited to Seoul, Korea. According to the Embassy of Oman, Dean Alharthy extended the thanks and appreciation to MOFA and Korean Government for all the support and cooperation to the Diplomatic Corps.
Alharthy who serves as Oman Amb. to the Republic of Korea since 2010, also reaffirmed the support of the Diplomatic Corps to the initiatives and continuous efforts of the Korean Government and collective efforts from concerning countries and international community toward building lasting peace in the Korean peninsula.
In response to such Oman Amb.'s remarks, MOFAT Minister Kang also deeply appreciated the initiatives of the Diplomatic Corps. in arraning such a meaningful event and thanked the Diplomatic Coprs. support on the ongoing efforts and dialogue toward building permanent peace on the Korean peninsula.
Immediately before the reception, the Heads of Missions of the Diplomatic Corps. gathered and discussed issues of common concerns related to protocol, enhancing the relation and cooperation with the Republic of Korea and public diplomacy, according to the Embassy of Oman.
