Tanzania 55th National Day held in a Gangnam area hotel Seoul on April 26(Friday) also commemorated simultaneously 27th diplomatic ties anniversary between Korea and Tanzania. Since its Embassy official opening on Jan. last year, Tanzania Embassy Seoul hosted its first diplomatic reception in order to utilize it as an opportunity to promote Tanzania tourism and to consolidate bilateral relations which have been unfolded after April, 1992.

By reflecting such huge interest in forging friendly relations with Tanzania, many African envoys showed off including Gabon, Angola, Tunisia, Zambia, Ethiopia, Cote d’ivoire, Rwanda, Kenya, Sudan, Sierra Leone in addition to many Charge d’Affaires a.i s such as Libya, Bolivia, South Africa, etc.

Allowing the participants to awaken that Tanzania is an important ODA partner country with Korea, Zambia Amb. Masuka Matilda said many countries from the developing countries circles will follow the economic development examples & cases Korea has been shown its transformation process from former assistance recipient country to its donor nation position.

According to Masuka, Tanzania has emerged as one of economic giants in Africa thanks to its annual 7% growth rate during last one decade. Moreover, Masuka elaborated its tourism merits such as diverse ethnic groups over 120, astonishing culture, which are assessed to be blessed, adding in that regard she sincerely hopes for the direct airline route to be opened soon so that more many Korean travelers can experience Tanzania.

While explaining Tanzania as a case Authentic Africa beckons for Korean tourists, the Amb. said she strongly would like to recommend for Korean tourists to experience Tanzania’s merits, adding Tanzania never disappoints. How could it, with Africa’s greatest game reserve, the unforgettable Serengeti, the seeing-is-believing volcanic crater at Ngorongoro, and Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, Masuka said.

Touching upon Tanzania Vision 2025, Intl relations Amb. Kim Kun from MOFAT said Korea will remain as a key partner during such a journey for Tanzania to achieve such vision by 2025. The overall aim of the National Vision 2025 is to transfer Tanzania from a least developing to a middle income country. This transfer is envisioned to turn Tanzanian economy into a strong, competitive economy that will provide improved socio-economic opportunities, public sector performance and environmental management. This vision is based on the principle sustainable development, where present generations will be able to derive benefits to rational use of natural resources of the country, without compromising the needs of future generations.
