Moreover, over 10,000 Bangladesh citizens who reside in South Korea for their various reasons such as studying, business or working, play a pivotal role for increasing bilateral ties between Korea & Bangladesh, according to the speech of Bangladesh envoy Mme. Abida Islam.

Bangladesh 48th anniversary of Independence & National Day celebration were observed with its official reception held in a downtown hotel Seoul on March 26th evening while the Seoul Diplomatic Corps. were in large number on hand including Dean of Diplomatic Corps. Oman Amb. Mohamed Salim Alharthy, new accredited Malaysia Amb. Mohd AshriMuda, Singapore envoy YIP Wei Kiat, Japan Amb. Nagamine Yasumasa etc.

As we celebrate the 48th anniversary of our glorious Independence and National Day of Bangladesh, I extend my heartiest felicitations to all the Bangladeshi nationals residing in the Republic of Korea and also the hospitable people of this beautiful country, began Bangladesh envoy to speak her speech on the podium.

On this occasion, I pay my tribute to the greatest Bengali of all time, the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who led the nation towards independence. I pay my profound tribute to millions of our fallen heroes, all our freedom fighters, men, women and children, to make our present a reality, she added.

Since their diplomatic ties in late 1973, the two nations have been maintaining their successful cooperation relations, according to Bangladesh Honorary Consul Mr. David Kim in Korea who controls Incheon area.

It is encouraging to see that the cooperation between Bangladesh and the Republic of Korea has increased in the sphere of trade, commerce, education and culture during the past one year. I hope it will further be strengthened in various other sectors as well in the coming days, Islam emphasized.

Abida Islam has been showing her special interest & affection in forging cooperation & friendship by taking part in several trip programs organized by NDNnews such as Hwacheon Tomato Festival on Aug. last year and Shinsung E&G Semiconductor Smart Factory trip on March this year, to name just a few.

In particular, Amb. Abida Islam showed her special interests in its Smart Factory manufacturing processing among many participants while exchanging her business name card with executives from Shinsung E&G.
