beyond Gangwon Province by hosting the 2018 PyeongChang Food
Summit on Feb. 12th in partnership with Gangwon Province.

Selected Excellencies, Madames, senior diplomats and last but not least
commercial attaches from countries which are strong powers in terms of
winter sports are cordially invited to the Food Summit in order to foresee
food market of the future, with the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games
as a momentum.

MAFRA officials who are in charge of this forthcoming Food Summit, said
that this Summit appears to be a good opportunity to let Korea know which leads
in the field of the future food as well, by hosting a Food Summit about the future
food while multinational CEOs, scholars and experts of the future food including
the Seoul Diplomatic Corps. will be on hand.
As regarding its subject, leaders of food field at home & abroad throw issues
related to future foods through keynote speeches from UN WFP experts, worldwide
scholars and multinational CEOs. This Food Summit is in a nutshell to look
the present and the future of food industry in the Republic of Korea beyond Gangwon
Province alone. In addition, MAFRA want to seek agriculture of the Republic of Korea
as well as globalization strategy of food industry by holding a roundtable between
MAFRA Minister Kim Yung-rok and participants including scholars, experts from home
& abroad.

Its key sessions are divided into two parts following a keynote speech by Director
Corinne Woods of Communication from UN WFP who will announce the Food Summit's direction.
First off, Session 1 deals with the future direction of food industry while Corinne
Woods from UN WFP, Prof. Charles Spence from Harvard University and Prof. Kim Nam-jo
from Hangyang University will be on hand.
Secondly, Session 2 is a session regarding the commercialization of the future food,
followed with its welcome dinner & reception at the YongPyong Resort BlissHill Stay
Wellness Hall.
