"Close partnerships in the fields of Saemaeul Movement & Taekwondo"
Within African continent framework, it is very significant for us that Korea is forming
a close & fruitful partnerships with Senegal in terms of Saemaeul Movement project
or Taekwondo training for the their spread into the entire Africa region.

Currently, Korea's North Kyungsang Province is spearheading Saemaeul Movement in
Senegal by forming its agriculture housing estate as a model for others while sharing
its expertise & experiences with international community. Moreover, there are right now
about 30,000 Senegalese Taekwondo trainees who learn Korea's military arts
'Taekwondo', according to the speech of Mr. Lee Wan-young who serves as president of The Korea-Senegal Parliamentary
Friendship Association.

Against such backdrop, Senegal Amb. Mamadou Ndiaye also underlined in his
welcoming remarks to commemorate Senegal 57th Independence Anniversary,
held in a hotel Seoul on April 12th evening, high quality's cooperation relations
between Korea & Senegal, touching upon Saemaeul Movement forming projects
in three villages,
Senegal as well as projects with KOIMA & EXIM bank etc., to name just a few.
Under his excellent leadership of Senegal President Mr. Macky Sall, Senegal has
achieved 6.7%'s GDP growth rate, increasing continuously during last three years.
As a result, Senegal government is striving to strengthen rural region's infras
quantitatively & qualitatively to reduce gaps between cities and rural communities,
according to Ndiaye.

MOFA deputy minister for public affairs Mr. Cho June-hyck expected more close partnership relations between the two countries, paying
attention to the fact that Senegal has recorded most high GDP growth rates among
African countries recently and at the same time, praising that Senegal has emerged
as a leading country
in Africa since its independence.
