4 honorable ambassadors from The Seoul Diplomatic Corps. received the 2017 Amb. 

Friendship Award on the occasion of the 2017 Consumer Awards Grand Prize Ceremony, 

hosted by Korea Consumer Association (an affiliate organization of The NDNnews) as 

well as The NDNnews & Seoulcity magazine.

Held at the Memorial Hall near Visitor House, National Assembly on March 31st(Fri.) afternoon, the ceremony attracted over 300 guests from each segments' awardees 

such as consumer administration, consumer brand, consumer friendship and consumer 

management etc.

Four recipients of the 2017 Consumer Friendship Award were H.E. Milan Lajciak 

(Slovakia Amb.), H.E. Adel Mohammad Adaileh (Amb. of Jordan), H.E. Mihai Ciompec 

(Amb. of Romania), and last but not least H.E. Ruben Eloy Arosemena Valdes (Amb. 

of Panama) from the Diplomatic Corps. who was not able to join because of his early 

personal engagement.

This Friendship Award is to thank 4 honorable ambassadors on their Amb. activities 

which includes the active participation in many NDNnews regional trip program and 

to contribute his valuable articles into the SeoulCity Magazine on some occasions 

such as National Day or New Year Message etc., to name just a few.

Joongang University emeritus prof. Lee Jong-hoon who chaired this year's consumer grand prize ceremony, said: “In order to 

spearhead our country into a consumer power, Korea Consumer Association will do 

its best in close partnership with all concerned persons and with The NDNnews among 

others".

Slovakia Amb. Milan Lajciak who stresses: "For corporations which disregard consumer's voices,  sustainable development will be impossible" in his congraturatory remarks  during the opening ceremony of the 2017 Consumer Awards Ceremony.

President Shin Hyun-doo, publisher of The NDNnews & Seoulcity magazine said that the philosophy of 

Korea Consumer Association is to make consumer-friendly companies basically and Mr. Ko Sum-sam, screen committee chairman of the 2017 Consumer Awards Committee, 

committed himself to doing his best to make Consumer Awards as a global festival, 

not being remained in the Republic of Korea alone.

Congratulatory remarks by H.E. Milan Lajciak, Amb. of Slovakia on the 

occasion of the 2017 Korea Consumer Awards (2 p.m at the Memorial Hall, 

National Assembly near National Assembly Visitor Center on March 31st, 

Friday)

First of all, I would like to convey my congratulations on behalf of Diplomatic 

Corps. as well as other Amb. Friendship Award recipients to all award 

recipients who receive their awards today in various categories such as 

consumer management part, consumer brand part, Consumer Friendship 

Award, consumer administration part etc.

We ambassadors understand that the awards purpose of Korea Consumer 

Awards is to present right choice's opportunities for consumers by striving 

for consumer's rights improvement and by excavating corporations, 

individuals & Institutions equipped with competitiveness, credibility & public 

interest.

In that regard, we 4 ambassadors also are very honored to be recognized 

as recipients of Consumer Friendship Award. Owing to rapid economic 

progress in the meanwhile, massproduction, and mass consumption, many 

problems are happening between consumers and corporations. 

It became important above all to harmonize consumer protection along 

with production so that corporations seeks not only profit, but also they 

carry out social responsibility faithfully. We believe that for corporations 

which disregard consumer's voices, sustainable management will be 

impossible.
