-"The 2017 Silk Road Korea-Iran Cultural Festival to take place on March 11-14, 2017"

The 2017 Silk Road Korea-Iran Cultural Festival slated for four days on March this year, is likely to ignite

interest regarding Silk Road & Iran once again among Korean peoples.

During the official reception to commemorate the 38th Proclmation of the Islamic

Iran Revolution held on Feb. 10th luncheon at downtown Hotel Seoul, Kyungju City

mayor Choi Yang-shik said: "Iran which played a core role for the cultural exchange between the East

and the West, is an optimal venue to host Silk Road festival alongwith Istanbul, Turkey".

Iran's great epic 'Kush Nama' demonstrates the history of Shila and Persia exchange,

not a simple legend, explained Choi through his congratulatory remarks.

Iran envoy Hassan Taherian(center) slices a congratulator cake with envoys to commemorate the 38th Proclamation of the Iran Revolution.

Iran Amb. Hassan Taherian stressed the importance of joint correspondence to

tackle with extremism terrors, adding unstable political situation in the Middle East

can impact on regional stability. Taherian said that Korean investors & companies have

been reliable partners in carrying out numerous Iran's construction & infra projects,

explaining he believes such deep partnerships will flourish even more in the years

to come by way of recent international community's lifting on Iran economic

sanction for example.

Actually, Iran had been playing an important role for cultural exchange among Asia,

Europe and Arab continents. Land & Transport Minister Kang Ho-in also who was on hand, pointed out: "Iran had been an important hub role of Silk

Road as a cradle of old splendid Persia culture". Minister Kang added that if Iran's

profound natural resources & human power and Korea's technology can be merged,

its synergy can be amplified even more for the benefit of bilateral economic

collaboration".

As regarding "Tourist Attractions of Iran", the Embassy of Iran tells:

Iran is an incredible place to visit. If for no other reason than its continuous history

of some 7000 years, it would be well worth seeing for its diversity of landscapes,

monuments, customs and lifestyles that make Iran attractive in all seasons. There are

one million historical sites in Iran. It is obvious that even the most interesting of these

can be visited only by making numerous trips to the country. These trips are all the

more pleasant because visitors to Iran never leave it without memories of its

wonderful hospitable people. Iran has seen an increase in the number of annual

visitors over the past few years and the recent lifting of economic sanctions is sure

to attract even more. Home to one of the oldest civilizations, Iran has no shortage

of sites to see. When it comes to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, it boasts an

impressive 19 registered cultural sites. Palaces, bazaars, places of worship, ancient

water systems and remnants of the great Persian Empire dominate this list.
