"Astana EXPO-2017 entices Korean to see at firsthand in Astana, Kazakhstan"
In a reception to commemorate Kazakhstan 25th Anniversary of its Independence
as well as to celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations in Jan,. 2017, Kazakhstan
envoy Dulat Bakishev invited Korean friends to see Astana EXPO-2017 at firsthand in Astana, Kazakhstan next year through his National Day
speech, held in a hotel Seoul on Dec. 16th evening.

112 countries have confirmed their participation, of which 104 have already
appointed their commissioners. 94 have inked the agreements, and 75 countries
have booked the date of the national day, according to the Committee of the
Astana EXPO 2017 Kazakhstan.

Even though the history was short during last 25 years since the Independence
of Kazakhstan from former Soviet Union in 1991, last 25 years served for the
two countries, that is between Korea & Kazakhstan as the period to consolidate
confidence each other, Bakishev defined the significance of bilateral diplomatic
ties during last 25 years.

According to the Embassy of Kazakhstan Seoul, Kazakhstan President Nursultan
Nazarbayev attended in the opening ceremony of a new architectural
monument “Тәуелсіздіктің 25 жылдығы” (25th Anniversary of Independence), saying that this soaring massive stele
symbolizes the unprecedented rise of our country for the past quarter of a
century and a desire to be among the thirty most developed countries in the world.

In Nov. this year Korea and Kazakhstan have issued a joint declaration to strengthen
their bilateral partnership during the visit period of official visit to Korea from
Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Cheong Wa Dae stated that the
Korea-Kazakhstan joint declaration looks back on the past 25 years of collaborative
growth and partnership between the two nations, and provides direction for
the next 25 years, so that the two sides can continue to develop a mutual
and strategic relationship.
