4 Honorable Envoys receive Best Amb. Awards in Recognition of Their Important Contributions to strengthen bilateral ties!
In recognition of their important contributions to strengthen bilateral ties in terms
of Summit Diplomacy among others, 4 honorable ambassadors from the Seoul
Diplomatic Corps. received The 2016 Best Amb. Award respectively from The
NDNnews (www.ndnnews.co.kr) at the Memorial Hall, National Assembly this morning on
Nov. 28th. In the 'Korea First, World Best' Awards Ceremony, a total of 70 corporate CEOs,
City mayors, and last but not least 4 honorable ambassadors received their awards
in recognition of their valuable contributions in their fields, according to the 'Korea
First, World Best' Awards Committee, an affiliate organization of The NDNnews.

First off, Mexico Amb. Jose Luis Bernal laid new groundwork for bilateral diplomacy
by playing a great bridge role for the Summit Diplomacy with President Park Geun-hye,
Republic of Korea when Korea's President paid an official visit to Mexico last
April this year to "create a new future for substantial cooperation and shared
growth" for the Summit Diplomacy between her and Mexico President Peña Nieto.
The 'Korea First, World Best' Awards Committee said in a plague: "Amb. Bernal has
been carrying out excellently Mexico Amb. position to strengthen bilateral ties
between Korea and Mexico so that Korea and Mexico can develop bilateral
partnerships in every area of interest, as evidenced by the constant political dialogue
and high-level reciprocal visits, by the ever-
growing figures in trade, investment and tourism, by the increasing educational
exchanges and by the sincere interest shown by Koreans and Mexicans in each other’s arts,
gastronomy and culture."

Russia Amb. Alexander A. Timonin also laid new groundwork for bilateral diplomacy
by playing a great bridge role for the Summit Diplomacy with President Park Geun-hye,
Republic of Korea when Korea's President paid an official visit to Vladivostok,
Russia last Sep. this year as part of her participation in the 2nd Eastern Economic
Forum when the Korea-
Russia Summit served as an opportunity to share an understanding of the need for
and vision of cooperation between the two countries in the Far East, where President
Putin's New Eastern Policy and President Park's Eurasia Initiative converge, according
to the Committee.

A Committee spokesman said that he has been carrying out excellently Russia Amb.
position to strengthen bilateral ties between Korea and The Russian Federation,
calling for bilateral cooperation to ensure that relations between the two countries
should not be damaged over the planned deployment of a U.S. anti-
missile system in South Korea. Many Koreans take encouragement from Russia
Amb. Timonin's comments that South Korea-
Russia relations will go up in coming years, noting that Moscow regards Seoul as a
major partner in the Asia-Pacific region, he added.

Egypt Amb. Hany Moawad Selim Labib was assessed to have been carrying out
excellently Egypt Amb. position to strengthen bilateral ties between Korea and
Egypt after the historical visit of President El- Sisi of Egypt to the ROK last March
this year(first of its kind in 2 decades). The visit inaugurated a new era of "Comprehensive
cooperation |Partnership" between the two nations which was declared by the two heads of
states on the 3rd of March 2016 in Seoul. Such partnership has since then been translated
on the ground into major cooperation projects and partnerships both public and private, i
ncluding in Egypt’s major developmental mega projects.
Amb. Labib also was assessed to have laid new groundwork, according to the
screening committee, for bilateral diplomacy by playing a great bridge role for
the Summit Diplomacy with President Park Geun-hye, Republic of Korea with Egyptian
President Abdel Fattah el -Sisi during three
Korea-Egypt Summits over the recent two years which served as a catalyst for realizing
the potential for developing complementary relations between the two countries.
Last but not least, Laos Amb. Khamsouay KEODALAVONG laid new groundwork for
bilateral diplomacy by playing a great bridge role for the Summit Diplomacy with
President Park Geun-hye,
Republic of Korea with Laos President Bounnhang Vorachith last Sep.
this year as part of her participation in the 11th East Asia Summit calling for international
efforts to solve North Korean nuclear and missile problems.
The 'Korea First, World Best Awards Committee' said that he has been carrying
out excellently Laos Amb. position to strengthen bilateral ties between Korea
and Laos so that a total of 18 MOUs signed in various areas can be realized
including trade, investment, industry, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, development
and culture in addition to launching new development cooperation projects with
Laos which include the Korea Aid and Better Life for Girls Initiatives, part of the
Korean Government's goal of carrying out customized development plans for
different fields.
