"From a blood alliance to a Middle Power Partnership"

As regarding recent Korea-Turkey relations, it is appropriate to state that bilateral relations are moving from past blood alliance forged during the Korean War to a Middle Power partnership such as MIKTA, UN, G20, OECD etc., to name just a few.

In that respect, Turkey Amb. Arslan Hakan Okcal committed himself to do the country's utmost for the close cooperations in numerous areas between Korea & Turkey in a reception to mark the 93rd anniversary of the foundation of its latest state, the Republic of Turkey proclaimed under the leadership of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatuerk.

In a narrated Message of President Erdoğan on the Republic Day during the fete, Turkey President Erdoğan said: "The Republic of Turkey has progressed by overcoming all the difficulties it has faced during these 93 years and, thanks to recent breakthroughs in particular, it has now accomplished to stand among the rising powers of the world."

Turkey, with its growing economy, strong democracy, its commitment to fundamental human values and principled and visionary foreign policy, continues be an inspiration to its region and to the World also today, argued Erdoğan.

According to Turkey Amb. Arslan Hakan Okcal by his speech, the recent events that took place on the night of July 15, 2016 reaffirmed beyond any doubt how the Turkish nation is unified with its state. That night, our nation demonstrated to the whole world that it would fight against the new invasion attempts as resolutely as in the War of Liberation, said Okcal.

The tenacity of the Turkish people, who defended fiercely its freedom, democracy, government and state, using their body as a shield against the arms of FETO member traitors are our greatest assurances on the path to achieving our 2023 vision for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, he added.

On the other hand, 2017 will be fillled with many friendship's events to commemorate the year of Korea-Turkey Friendship, according to Okcal.

Minister Kang Ho-in of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and chairman Shim Jae-kwon from the Foreign Committee, National Assembly who were on hand, said with a unanimous voice that they sincerely expect for the two countries to forge more stronger brotherhood than ever, butressed by its long blood alliance relationships.

For reference, The Republic of Turkey has been pursuing, since its establishment, a peaceful, realistic and consistent foreign policy guided by the principle “Peace at Home and Peace Abroad” set out by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Turkey conducts a foreign policy generating security and stability in its region and beyond based on its democratic and secular political system, vibrant economy and its tradition of reconciling modernity with its cultural identity.
